I Just Want to Run

I Just Want to Run

“The obsession with running is really an obsession with the potential for more and more life.”

– George Sheehan

I just want to run.

I want to run away from everything while running towards something.

I want to run to let go of the old, so I can grab hold of something new.

I want to run to forget.

I want to run to remember.

I want to run to get away from others while getting closer to myself.

I want to run to get healthier — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I want to run to get out of my head — and into my mind.

I want to run for my future — and my daughters’ future.

I just want to run.

“It’s my own space, my own time, when I’m just out there letting my thoughts go. It’s part of my day like eating, and it’s one of my favorite parts.”

– Louise Kent

I want to run to understand myself better.

I want to run because running understands me and I understand it.

I want to run because it heals me.

I want to run because it also heals those around me.

I want to run because nothing else matters in those moments.

I want to run for the solitude and the quiet.

I want to run for the aloneness I treasure.

I want to run because I love it — and I could use more love.

I want to run to feel, to hurt, to suffer.

Because when I run, all is right even though it may be wrong.

I just want to run.

I just want to run.

Why do you run? Is there something which drives you to keep running? Or do you just want to run for the fun of it?
